Reusing or recovering waste
1. Overview
Normally you will need an environmental permit for any waste treatment, recovery or disposal activities.
In some cases, lower risk, small scale and less polluting activities may be exempt from licensing. These activities are known as exemptions. You must still comply with the conditions of an exemption to make sure your activities do not pollute the environment or harm human health.
