6. What paperwork is relevant to disposing of waste?

1) Waste transfer note
You have to complete and sign a waste transfer note for all transfers of waste between holders.

2) Consignment note (hazardous waste only)
You have to complete and sign a consignment note for all transfers of hazardous waste between holders.

3) Waste carriers' certificate or professional collector's certificate
If you pay someone else to transport your waste, they must be either a registered waste carrier or a professional collector. Ask them to show you their certificate or check online to see if they are registered. Waste Directory

4) Written declaration of treatment
If your waste is going to a landfill, you should complete a written declaration of treatment to show that the waste has been pre-treated.

5) Environment permit
You must check that the site that receives your waste is legally allowed to take that waste. Ask to see a copy of the site permit.
