What is agricultural waste?
2. What is classed as agricultural waste?

Agricultural waste is waste that is produced on a farm and is produced through farming activities.
This means if you carry out non-agricultural activities on your farm, such as run a bed and breakfast or a tea room, the waste from that activity will not be agricultural waste, however waste controls still apply, see Duty of Care for more information.
Agricultural activities includes land used for:
- horticulture
- fruit growing
- seed growing
- dairy farming
- livestock breeding and keeping
- grazing land
- meadow land
- osier land
- market gardens
- nursery grounds
- woodlands, if they are ancillary to the use of the land for other agricultural purposes.
